About MeI grew up in Springfield, Ohio to a mother who is a potter and a geologist father. I have always loved art, especially painting and sculpture, and have been working with clay as far back as I can remember. I consider myself a 3d mixed media artist and enjoy scouring flea markets for "bits and pieces" I use in my found object sculptures in addition to working with ceramics and Apoxie Sculpt. I graduated from The College Of Wooster with a major in Studio Art, and later attended The Columbus College Of Art And Design where I focused on 3D Illustration. I have had jobs sculpting props and "corpses" for haunted houses and working on animals for a water park. Although I hold a Master's of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University I currently live and work in Columbus as an artist as it is my first love! I share my life and studio with my white Labrador sidekick "Charlie."

My Interests |
I am primarily a sculptor, however I also define myself as a mixed media artist. I am drawn to minute details ' in painting and sculpture, and am especially inspired by edgy, thought provoking and "dark" art that is bordering on creepy. Halloween, Pop Art, Day of the Dead, carnivals, and folk art infatuate me. Through the use of bright colors, complex patterns, and surrealistic themes I aspire to transport the viewer to an offbeat fantasy world!

More Recently |
During several recent summers I have taken ceramic workshops and have fallen in love with hand building in ceramic clay! I find that I work more loosely and let the clay tell me what it wants to become. I love the feel of the clay in my hands. Many of my newest works are ceramic pieces, which I sculpt, let dry, and fire in my ceramics classes or in my mom's kiln in Springfield. I then finish the pieces by painting them with acrylics - as I love to paint and have more control over the final result than in using glazes. However, more recently I have been using underglazes and am excited with what this technique has to offer!
